Inflammation, Reflux, and Swollen Vocal Cords – How a Silent Reflux Diagnosis led me to MEDCOAT

When I recently accepted the news of a silent reflux diagnosis I had no idea the domino effect it would have on my treatment. Silent reflux, also known as laryngopharyngeal reflux, is often referred to as silent because it usually does not cause symptoms in the chest. This gastrointestinal condition causes a backup of stomach acid to flow to the throat, larynx, and esophagus. After identifying the issue, I quickly found out that silent reflux would affect me in more ways than one.
